England in the Footsteps of its Literary Giants
Dear Readers:
My husband and I started collaborating on books five years ago. It all started with the tragedy of my sister and brother's deaths that year. I was deeply depressed and my husband tried to buck up my spirits by encouraging me to write. What resulted was our first ebook called "England in the Footsteps of Literary Giants." It is a travelogue about our pilgrimage to England to see the birthplaces and environments of England's famous authors such as Dickens, the Brontes, Jane Austen, James Herriot, Shakespeare, and D. H. Lawrence. I wrote the essay, then my husband and I looked at our pictures from the trip and chose the ones to go with it. It brought back so many great memories. I have a Masters Degree in English Literature, so it was a dream come true for this English Major. By writing about our travels, it brought me back to a happier place in my mind and helped me heal. I'm eternally grateful to my husband for taking us on that trip to England, taking all of those wonderful pictures, and encouraging me to write again.

Louise Hathaway
Hello dear readers:
As most of our followers know, we write under a pen name. My husband came up with the name because he's a fan of of PBS series, "Inspector Lewis " who has a sidekick named Hathaway: so, we combined their two names for our "nom de plume". Last week, I read a blog post by our publisher and he said that most of the authors on The Publisher's Weekly best seller list for indie writers are women. Is it because women are buying the most books and want to read about women characters? Who can really say. I like reading about women characters; why wouldn't my readers have the same feelings? Duh? After telling my husband this, we agreed that, because I am the primary writer and a lot of our books have been written solely by me, we should be going by a female pen name and we were doing ourselves a disservice by having a male name. Therefore, we have decided that "Lewis" needs to have a sex-change operation to become "Louise".
What's in a name? Plenty. My husband said, "Why didn't we think of this a long time ago?

The Nancy Keene Mysteries
Hello dear readers,
Our publisher, Smashwords, has been encouraging its writers to take advantage of a tool called "Series Manager". We've been a little hesitant to use this feature; mainly because of our fear that, by organizing our books in this fashion, it may turn off potential readers who don't want to "make the commitment" to buy 3 or 4 books in a series and read them in chronological order. We've written each of our books in the "Nancy Keene Mysteries" and "Detective Santy Mysteries" as being contained unto themselves; but they do follow a chronological order. So we're going to do a little experiment with our "Nancy Keene Mysteries" and label them Book 1, 2, and 3 and see if it results in "more discoverability" and therefore increased sales, as Smashwords predicts. We'll let you know how it goes. All of these titles are available at your favorite online bookstores.

The Summer of Love: A Trip Back to 1968
We've just published a new book:
This hilarious time-travel fantasy is about two sisters who are magically transported back to the 1968 Newport Pop Festival in Costa Mesa, California--an outdoor concert later described as “Orange County’s Woodstock.” Both sisters had attended the festival when they were teenagers. In this book, they once again hear bands such as The Byrds, The Grateful Dead, and The Jefferson Airplane. They hitch-hike back to their childhood home, see and talk to relatives who died years ago, and even run into younger versions of their husbands. In spite of all the fun they’re having, they’re plagued with the question, “How are we going to get back to 2014?”
It is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Apple, and most other eBookstores.
It costs only $1.99
It is also available in paper at Amazon.com
