High School Sweethearts on the Coast Starlight

Description:

This love story, a cross between The Notebook and Last Tango in Halifax, is about an older couple who are reunited after being away from each other since high school. In her late 60s, Madeline has been diagnosed with cancer and told that she has only a few months to live.

She takes a scenic long-distance train trip aboard The Coast Starlight, where she once again sees Jay, her first love, and they pick up right where they left off and have a wonderful time in Seattle, where he proposes and gives her a whole new lease on life. How long does she have left to live? Readers will be pleasantly surprised.

Our Trip Aboard Amtrak's Coast Starlight

My husband and I just came back from a wonderful trip aboard the Coast Starlight, traveling from LA up to Seattle and back.

Highlights: viewing the unspoiled California coastlines from our sleeper car bedroom, admiring the fall leaves in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, and being lucky enough to see the snow-capped top of Mount Shasta peeking through the clouds as the train rolled on and we ate a delicious lunch in the diner car.

It was our second trip on the Coast Starlight; we traveled to Salinas two years ago and when I came home, I wrote this bittersweet love story about two ex-lovers who unexpectantly meet again aboard the Coast Starlight.

Love Gets a Second Chance

Are you a fan of the movie "The Notebook" or the TV series "Last Tango in Halifax"? If so, I hope you'll enjoy this romance that was inspired by both of them.

In this love story, a couple in their late 60s are reunited after being away from each other since high school.

High School Reunions

How many of you go to your high school reunions hoping to see “the one who got away”? That’s what this PG-rated romance novel is all about. In this story, Danielle, a woman who has just turned 30, goes to her high school reunion hoping to see Sandy, a tall redhead, who, on their last day of school, gave her a poem he’d written about her. One of her biggest regrets is that she let him go away without telling him that she shares his feelings. He’s been impossible to locate so far, but she’s hoping that at tonight’s reunion, he will finally walk back into her life. For the most part, it is a true story about my husband & I, who met in high school, and reconnected after some time had passed. The people mentioned in it are real, too: we really did have a pimp, Playboy centerfold, and famous mystery writer in our class.

A Second Chance at Romance

How many of you go to your high school reunions hoping to see “the one who got away”? That’s what this romance novel is all about. In this story, Danielle, a woman who has just turned 30, goes to her high school reunion hoping to see Sandy, a tall redhead, who had given her a poem he’d written about her on their last day of school.   One of her biggest regrets is that she let him go away without telling him that she shares his feelings. He’s been impossible to locate so far, but she’s hoping that at tonight’s reunion, he will finally walk back into her life.

Here's what readers are saying about this book:

"Everybody probably had at least one crush in high school. Most people might have wondered at least at some point about what ever happened to that person. What would happen if you got one more chance to get together. How would it change your life?

I enjoyed reading High School Reunion. It’s that second chance you might have dreamed about. It’s about giving romance the chance that should have happened a long time ago. It’s about going out on a limb to try to get what you want, now that you have experience being an adult. Give this one a read if you've ever wondered, "What if?"

Do you like romance novels?

Have you ever been to a murder mystery dinner?  My husband and I went to one and loved it.  Afterwards, we asked ourselves, "What if a real murder happened during one of these performances?" That was our inspiration to write this novel.  We've also been watching  a lot of "Mad Men" lately, so we decided to have our two lovers look like Don Draper and Joan from the show.

The eBook is only $2.99
The Paperback is only $7.59

Graduation Day and High School Reunions

It's that time of year for graduations and high school reunions.  How many of you still attend your reunions?  Do you go hoping to see your old boyfriend--"the one who got away"?  Fess up, ladies.

Here's a romance novel that my husband and I wrote about finding love the second time around at a high school reunion.

February Is For Lovers

Happy Valentine's Month:

My husband was almost "the one who got away" in my high school days.  I realized in the second half of our Senior Year in high school, that if I didn't declare my feelings for him soon, we might graduate and never see each other again.

I might have been that lonely girl who goes to high school reunions year after year, hoping that he would show up.

I wrote this novel loosely based on that premise.  The poem in the story is word for word the same one he wrote me.

I'm so very lucky.  The eBook is called "High School Reunion: You Can Go Home Again".  It is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Apple, and all of your favorite eBookstores.
