Five Star Rating for "Honeymoon in Savannah: A Detective Santy Mystery"

I was so excited today when I noticed that our book, Honeymoon in Savannah: A Detective Santy Mystery, got a five star rating on Google Play.  This mystery, about a famous chef who was murdered in Savannah, Georgia, has been out for a couple of years now and has received four star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, but this is its first Five Star.  Yippee!  Out of the 23 books in our catalog, this is our favorite and it was a joy to write.  It also has sold the most (189 copies).  We are indie-writers, so you can see by our sales that we're not up there with Nora Roberts or James Patterson, but it's a pretty big deal for us.  Thank you to all our wonderful readers.

Her time as a tourist is short-lived however when one of Savannah’s famous chefs is brutally murdered. The chef just happens to be Clarissa’s cousin--so this is personal--and Clarissa can’t rest until she finds out whodunit.

I was stranded in London on 9/11 wanting to get back home and now my niece is stranded in Paris after yesterday's horrible terrorist attack. Genealogy Roadshow

I'm glad to see that Genealogy Roadshow is back on TV.  I applied to be on the show and told them about my relative from Scotland who was forced to flee to America in 1716 because he fought against the British army.  Once his family knew he'd arrived safely in America, they sent him a chest of gold coins that he supposedly buried, but nobody has been able to find it. I haven't heard from the producers of the show yet, but I did write about it in the first two chapters of my murder/mystery Honeymoon in Savannah: A Detective Santy Mystery. 

My book's main character is a homicide detective who comes to Savannah on her honeymoon after she'd been on Genealogy Roadshow where they'd told her about her family in Georgia whom she never met nor knew existed.  Her newly-found cousins invite her to Savannah for a family reunion and while she's there, her cousin who is a famous chef, is murdered.  Even though it's her honeymoon, she can't help but get involved in the search for the killer.

Common Theme in Literature

When I was an English Major in college, the search for family, for a sense of belonging, was a common theme in some of the literature we read and wrote about.  So, when I started writing novels, I tried to keep that in mind.  One of the first murder/mysteries my husband and I wrote together, "The Tustin Chronicles: A Detective Santy Mystery," is about a daughter's search for her parentage. We began the book after my brother passed away and it is loosely based on his relationship with his adopted daughter.

We've written four books with her as a main character.  The second book in the series is about her trying to help her father adjust to life outside of prison; the third is about her meeting her cousins for the first time in Savannah when one of them is murdered; and the last is a psychological thriller about someone from her past stalking her and threatening her family.  We hope you like our characters; many are based on people we know; in fact, the murderer in The Tustin Chronicles, is someone I knew when I was 13.  Art imitating life is what we've tried to achieve in our novels.
